And so it begins…

Two days of shooting our next commercials could not have gone more smoothly. Whew!

It was an amazing thing to watch as we attempted to create this casino environment in a giant warehouse of green in the suburbs of Kansas City.

The actors were such troopers to imagine the excitement and recreate it in this weird void of…well…anything. Somehow we managed to book two who were considered the “preeminent” local talent. Trust me. It showed.

Then, there’s the interesting food styling that happens to make dishes look ready to eat…but don’t do it! They’re covered in all sorts of things to make them look so appealing. Did you know you can rebuilt the head on a beer with salt? Oh the tricks these magicians have up their sleeves.

Admittedly, I think the most fun part of these days have been the “hearty debates” regarding some very important things: hairstyles, wardrobe, and whether the steak should have asparagus on the plate or be just on its own. Is the hotel shot a breakfast in bed scenario or an arrival? You’ll have to wait for the commercials to see the answers to all of these burning questions.

And on top of all of this, I learned of something called Kinetic Animation. You’ve seen it. I’ve seen it. I just didn’t know that there’s a bit of an art and science to it. Check out this reel of the work done by MK12.

Gosh, I feel so lucky. There are so many moving parts to getting a commercial completed. Everything worked perfectly.

Now the magic begins as the teams at The Media & Marketing Group and MK12 creates what I think will be a pretty exciting set of commercials.

And so it begins…
